We started the day early early. Jo Anne was in the shower at 2:15 and we were headed to the airport by 3:20.
5 am arrival at the airport.
Arriving at the Denver airport at sunrise.
And in San Francisco by 10:30 pacific time. I had forgotten how steep the streets are until we went for a short walk to stretch our legs after sitting on a plane for 5 hours. More about that later. Here are a few pics of the flowers and trees showing how green things are here.
Dog park
Field of lavender
This is why we don’t do selfie’s
See how pretty it is without us standing in front of that view?
Little trumpet shaped flowers
I texted Kim to see what kind of tree this is and he thinks it’s a corymbia citriodora (lemon scented gum). All I know is it was really really tall.
We just walked up this hill. We started way beyond what you can see. Only one of many hills we experienced today.
Golden Gate Bridge in the background
Trolley line
Headed to the crooked street (Lombard street)
Pics of the crooked street
And we made it to fisherman’s wharf
Wow! Is this what we have to look forward to?
Boudin’s sourdough bakery
My crab Louie salad
Jo Anne’s clam chowder in a boudin sourdough bowl.
Alcatraz
These are all pictures from fisherman’s wharf.
You can see (if you look really hard 🤣) the top of the Golden Gate Bridge peeking out the top of the fog rolling in.
Pier 39
Ghirardelli square
Easter egg tree
Our lodging for the night
Boy are we ready for these beds!!!
Remember when I said we were going to go for a little walk to stretch our legs? Well 5 hours later . . .
The floors are all those hills. And this isn’t even one of our planned “walk” days. We’ll rest tomorrow 😁.
You literally hit the ground walking! Very impressive! John said great pictures. Thanks for sharing your day - get some rest.
